Fix order
- Known-good USB‑C cable — desk proof on a USB-C hub path on Amazon is fine
- PS5 on, rear USB first
- Rest Mode → enable USB power supply options
- Pinhole reset on DualSense
- Battery service if runtime is minutes after a full charge indication
Shell work for battery: precision screwdriver set.
Bottom line
Cable → port → Rest Mode USB → reset → battery. Don’t buy a new controller for a charge-only lead.
Frequently Asked Questions
Light bar doesn’t show charging?
Try another cable and PS5 USB port. Some third-party cables are charge-flaky. Orange/charging indicators vary by firmware.
Charges on PC but not PS5?
PS5 Rest Mode USB power disabled or a weak front port. Enable Rest Mode USB supply; try rear ports while console is on.
Reset button inside the hole?
A soft reset can revive odd charge states. It does not replace a worn battery.

Separate issue — see DualSense drift guide.
Wireless play while charging?
Supported when connected by USB; use a data-capable cable seated firmly.
